Your First Hour in Grow a Brainrot 🎮
This guide walks you through a real first-hour gameplay session in Grow a Brainrot, complete with tips to avoid common mistakes and maximize your early earnings!
The First Roll: Getting Your Starter Brainrot
When you enter the game, your first task is to roll for a brainrot. Here's what you need to know:
Rolling Strategy for Beginners
Click the Roll button to see 3 random brainrots
Look for affordable options - early game cash is limited
Don't worry about rarity yet - focus on any brainrot you can buy
Beginner Tip: Your first brainrot doesn't need to be rare. A cheap Common or Uncommon is perfect to start earning money!
Making Your First Purchase
Walk up to the brainrot you want
Press E to buy it
The cost varies based on rarity (Common = cheaper, Rare = expensive)
Step 2: Planting & Starting Earnings
After your first purchase:
Go to your base - Return to your designated area
Select the brainrot - Use number keys (1, 2, 3) for quick selection
Place it strategically - Don't put expensive brainrots near the door!
- Thieves can easily steal from slot positions close to your gate
- Place valuable brainrots deeper in your base
First Money Collection
Stand on the money button in your base to collect your earnings. Even this first brainrot will generate cash per second!
Important: Collect regularly - this funds future purchases and upgrades.
Step 3: The Critical First Defensive Action - LOCK YOUR BASE! 🔒
This is the most important step beginners forget:
Why Locking Matters
Other players can walk into an unlocked base
They can steal ANY brainrot you have
You lose those brainrots permanently
How to Lock for Free
Stand on the red button near your gate
Your base is locked for 1 minute (completely FREE)
Repeat this every minute or upgrade to 24-hour lock (49 Robux)
Common Beginner Mistake: Forgetting to lock your base! Always lock before:
Going AFK
Exploring other areas
Fighting other players
Step 4: Building Your Second Brainrot + First Upgrade
Once you have enough cash:
Getting a Second Brainrot
Roll again and purchase another one. Diversification helps:
If one gets stolen, you still earn money
Different rarities have different earning rates
More brainrots = more total income
Upgrading Your First Brainrot (Advanced)
You can upgrade individual brainrots to boost their earnings:
Find the brainrot in your base
Interact with it to see upgrade costs
Each upgrade increases $/second significantly
Early Game Tip: Prioritize buying more brainrots over upgrading initially. More sources of income > higher individual earnings early on.
Understanding the Evolution System 📊
As time passes, your brainrots automatically evolve:
Stage
Appearance
Earnings
Time*
👶 Baby
Small & cute
1x earnings
Start
🧒 Teen
Growing
~1.5x earnings
Several hours
🧑 Adult
Full size
~2x earnings
More hours
👹 Monster
Mutated
~3x earnings
Many hours
💀 Dead
Final form
~5x earnings
Very long
*Times vary based on brainrot type; check your specific brainrot!
Why It Matters: A brainrot in Dead form earns 5x more than the same one as Baby! Keep them for the long term.

PvP in First Hour: Should You Attack Other Bases?
When You Encounter Other Players' Bases
You'll see locked or unlocked bases from other players. You can:
Attack an unlocked base - Try to steal their brainrots
Attack a locked base - Spend 49 Robux to unlock and raid
First Hour PvP Reality Check
Most new players have very few/weak brainrots
Spending Robux to raid usually isn't worth it early game
Focus on your own base instead
Beginner Strategy: Don't spend Robux on raids in your first hour. Build your own base stronger first!
Common Beginner Mistakes to Avoid ❌
Not locking your base - Results in total loss of brainrots
Placing expensive brainrots near the door - Makes them easy targets
Spending all cash on one brainrot - Better to diversify
Upgrading before you have multiple brainrots - Spread income sources first
Going AFK without locking - Even 5 minutes of no lock = potential loss
Wasting Robux on locks early - Free 1-minute locks are sufficient at first
Ignoring the brainrot index - You might miss collection opportunities
Game Bugs & Edge Cases You Might Encounter 🐛
Getting Stuck in Terrain
Sometimes you can fall through the floor or get stuck in a brainrot
Solution: Wait for a respawn option or reset the game
Brainrot Not Responding to Upgrades
If a brainrot won't upgrade despite having enough cash
Solution: Try clicking it again, or place a different one nearby
Money Collection Lag
Large numbers sometimes display oddly on screen
Solution: The money is still calculating correctly in backend
Pro Tip: These bugs are rare and usually temporary. Report them in the official Discord!
